Paper Sidebar

Soft grey tab sidebar, white pages, and an orange marker on the current tab. A calm, colors-only theme. No permissions.

Paper Sidebar gives Chrome's vertical tabs a calm, paper-like look: soft grey around, white pages in the middle. • Soft grey tab sidebar (#F2F2F2), a lighter toolbar and page frame (#FAFAFA), white pages • The current tab is a lighter pill with a small orange bar next to its icon • Crisp black tab titles; other tabs stay flat and quiet • Tab groups keep Chrome's own bright group colors • Looks the same whether your system is in light or dark mode To show tabs on the side: right-click any tab → "Show Tabs Vertically". Good to know • This is a theme: no code, no permissions, no data collection. • The orange bar also appears briefly on a tab while the mouse is over it. • Tab-group colors, fonts and row sizes are drawn by Chrome itself. • Themes don't apply in Incognito windows. • Picking a color in "Customize Chrome" replaces this theme. • To remove it: Settings → Appearance → Theme → Reset to default.
