Paper Library Checker

A third-party add-on for Zotero that checks whether scholarly articles exist in a local library.

Paper Library Checker is an alpha, local-first companion for Zotero. On supported scholarly article pages, it reads public bibliographic metadata and checks it against your local Zotero library. It displays Saved, Possible match, Not saved, or Unrecognized so you can decide whether to save the article. Main features: - Check the current scholarly article from the toolbar popup. - See Zotero connection, index, and current-page status. - Manually re-check the current page. - Use English or Simplified Chinese interfaces. - Keep matching and pairing on your own computer. - No telemetry, advertising, or developer-operated server. Requirements: - Zotero 9.0.x. - The companion Paper Library Checker Zotero add-on. - Zotero and the add-on must be running. Offline is expected when they are not. Paper Library Checker does not save articles and does not replace Zotero Connector. It does not upload your Zotero library. Current support boundaries: - CNKI Chinese article details are supported and tested. - CNKI English and CNKI list/reference checks are experimental. - ScienceDirect is best effort when site access controls replace the article page. - MDPI article details are supported and tested. - MDPI References are not supported. - Other listed scholarly sites use experimental or best-effort generic metadata extraction. A listed domain is not a promise of verified support for every page. Paper Library Checker remains alpha software. It is an independent project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Zotero, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or their publishers.
