Palim
Overview
A fast, local-first scratchpad for plain text, code, and Markdown. Everything saves automatically and stays in your browser.
Palim is a scratchpad that lives in a browser tab. Open it and start typing — there is no Save button, no files, and no account. Notes save themselves as you type and are still there when you come back days later. • Many notes, each titled from its first line, or rename them • Syntax highlighting for 18 programming languages, recognised as you paste • Markdown with an editor, a live preview, or both side by side • Diagrams written as text (Mermaid), drawn in the colours of your theme • Import files as notes and export any note as a file • A command palette (Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+P) that runs any action or opens any note • Multiple cursors that work the way they do in VS Code • Folders in your own order; present a folder as slides, with a toolbar for bigger text, a wider column or another theme • Search every note at once (Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+F), ignoring accents • Tick tasks right in the preview • Six light and dark themes and an adjustable text size • Palim remembers your notes, cursor, scroll position and layout • Delete with Undo; the Trash keeps notes for 30 days Private by design: everything stays in your browser's local storage (IndexedDB). Palim makes no network requests, has no analytics, and does not read or change the web pages you visit. Open it with the toolbar icon or Alt+Shift+P.
