Overview
Extract colors from webpage images locally. Copy HEX or CSS, then bring your palette to PaletteFinch for an illustration.
Turn a webpage image into a small working palette, then use those colors in your next design. Right-click an image and choose “Extract palette with PaletteFinch”. The extension groups its colors into up to six HEX swatches, ordered by their share of the sampled image. Click a swatch to copy one HEX code, copy all colors together, or export CSS variables. Choose one to four illustration colors and a background, then click “Make an illustration with this palette”. PaletteFinch opens with those HEX colors already selected. Add your own brief on the website when you want an illustration. The original image is not sent as a model reference. Generation uses the website’s existing credits, and exact HEX matching is not guaranteed. Extracting and copying colors in the extension is free and does not require an account. Images are processed on your device. The extension has no analytics, image uploads or remote code. It reads a webpage only after you invoke it on that tab. If a cross-origin image cannot be read directly, it extracts the visible image area from a local tab capture. A partly hidden image yields a visible-part palette. You can also choose a saved JPG, PNG or WebP for a full-image palette. Protected browser pages and some embedded images require this saved-image option. Opening the illustration website sends your selected HEX colors and fixed extension attribution parameters in its URL. Website requests, optional analytics and generation follow PaletteFinch’s separate website policy. Questions or feedback can go to support@palettefinch.com.
