Palette by Medium Plus

Save a Google Doc as a lighter PDF or a Google Sheet as a clean Excel file, no account needed. Medium Plus staff sign in for more.

Palette looks at the page you are viewing and offers the one useful thing it can do there. Two tools work for anyone, with no account and no sign-in: * Google Docs to a lighter PDF. Download any Doc you can open as a PDF with its images compressed, small enough to email. The text stays sharp and selectable. Choose Print, Email or Full quality, and, for a Doc with tabs, the current tab or all of them. * Google Sheets to a clean Excel file. Download any Sheet you can open as an .xlsx with formulas flattened to their values, links and comments removed, and trailing empty rows trimmed, ready to send outside your organization. Both run entirely in your browser, on the Google session you already have open. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is collected, and there is no account to create. On any other page, Palette offers buttons that open Google Docs or Google Sheets. Medium Plus staff sign in with their company Google account for more tools of the same kind: supplier catalog exports, label PDFs and calendar events from a Sheet, supplier invoice downloads, saving read-aloud audio, and an RFID inventory scanner. Those need a Medium Plus staff account, which the public cannot create. Palette reads only the page you are on, and only when you ask. It never reports your browsing, and whatever it makes goes only where you send it: a file you save or, for staff, your own Google Calendar. It runs no code that is fetched or changed after installation; every operation ships in this package. The staff tools do nothing on any supported site until a staff member signs in, and stop on every open tab the moment they sign out.
