Benkyou — the Japanese word for "study" — is a lightweight kanji and vocabulary quiz extension built for learners who want consistent, focused practice without leaving their browser. Whether you're just starting out at N5 or pushing through N1, Benkyou meets you at your level. What you can do: Quiz yourself on kanji — given a compound word, choose the correct reading or meaning from four options Study by JLPT level — filter questions to N5, N4, N3, N2, or N1 so every session is relevant to your current goal Control your session — set how many cards you want to complete and the pace between each question Get instant feedback — see the furigana reading and meaning right after each answer, so you learn from mistakes immediately Designed for: Japanese learners at any level Indonesian speakers — meanings are provided in Bahasa Indonesia JLPT exam preppers who want targeted, level-appropriate drilling Why Benkyou? Most study tools ask you to open a new app, log in, or manage a deck. Benkyou is different — it lives in your toolbar and is ready in one click. No account required, no data collected, no distractions. The project is fully open source. If you want to contribute kanji data, report a bug, or suggest a feature, the repository is open for it.
