PageSentry: Website Change Monitor
Overview
Alerts when a price drops, stock returns or new jobs appear, and shows what changed. Ignores clocks and counters. No account.
PageSentry watches the web pages you care about and tells you what changed, in a sentence you can act on: a price drop, an item back in stock, a new job post, a new listing. WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT • New-item alerts, with links. Watching a job board, a search result or a shop category? The alert names each new entry and links straight to it, instead of telling you "the page changed" and leaving you to find what is new. • Price memory. Every price a watch reads is kept and drawn as a small chart with the lowest and highest seen. Get one alert when the price crosses your target, or when it hits a new low, not one for every small move. • The noise check. When you add a page, PageSentry reads it twice, a few seconds apart, and sets aside whatever changed on its own, such as a clock or a counter. Relative times like "5 minutes ago" never count as a change. If something else keeps changing, "Ignore changes like this" on the alert teaches the watch. THE BASICS, DONE PROPERLY • Pick the exact part: click the price, the stock line or the list on the page. The saved selector matches only what you clicked. CSS and XPath selectors work too. • Alert rules: any change; this text appears (for example "In stock"); this text disappears; a price or number goes below or above your number, drops, rises or hits a new low; new items appear. • See exactly what changed: old words struck through, new words in green, and one plain sentence on top, such as "Price dropped from £48.20 to £44.99 (-6.7%)". • Pages built by scripts: when a plain download of the page comes back without the content, PageSentry loads the page in a minimised window of its own that closes itself. Your own tabs are never opened or refreshed. • Told when a watch breaks: if the part you picked disappears, the site shows a bot check or a sign-in wall, or the page answers with an error, you get one alert that says so and how to fix it, instead of silence. • Checks while Chrome is open, and catches up on anything overdue when Chrome starts. FREE 5 watches, hourly checks, every alert rule, new-item alerts, price memory (the last 30 readings per watch), the noise check, broken-watch alerts, highlighted changes and browser notifications. No account and no card needed. PRO, $2.99 A MONTH OR $9.99 A YEAR • Unlimited watches • Checks every 1, 5, 15 or 30 minutes, chosen per watch • Alerts on your phone: add your own ntfy topic, Discord or Slack webhook, and every alert goes there too, straight from your browser • Long memory: up to 1,000 changes and 1,000 price readings per watch • Export and import your watches Pro turns on when you sign in with your Aegis account at aegisfirma.com. PRIVATE BY HOW IT WORKS Your watch list and the pages you watch stay in your browser. Pages are downloaded by your browser and compared on your computer; nothing passes through a PageSentry server. The only request PageSentry makes to us is the Pro sign-in check at aegisfirma.com. Phone alerts go only to the address you enter. GOOD TO KNOW • Checks run while Chrome is open, so phone alerts arrive while Chrome is running on your computer. • Where Chrome has its built-in on-device language model, plain text changes also get a one-line written summary, made on your computer.
