Overview

Watch a page, compare scheduled checks, and review meaningful changes in one clear timeline.

PageLens is a local website monitor that automatically checks web pages for changes and sends change alerts. Create free, unlimited local watches in Chrome without a PageLens account or a separate desktop app. Stop checking the same page by hand. Open a page, describe what you want to watch, and choose a check interval. PageLens saves a baseline, compares scheduled checks, and sends browser notifications when the watched text changes. AI WATCH IDEAS FOR THE PAGE YOU ARE VIEWING Open PageLens on a web page with an empty instruction field to receive AI-generated watch ideas based on its visible content. Ideas appear inside the input with a typewriter effect and disappear as you start typing; an existing draft prevents suggestion requests. Click an idea to fill the instruction, edit it if needed, then create the watch yourself. Suggestions are enabled by default and can be turned off in Settings. This optional feature sends bounded current-page text through PageLens Cloud to its AI provider; no personal API token is needed. It does not automatically create watches or enable AI analysis for your local watches. AUTOMATIC WEBSITE MONITORING, BUILT INTO CHROME Your pages, monitored locally. Basic checks, comparisons, and history run inside the extension. No login, cloud subscription, or desktop service is required for local watches and browser alerts. Keep Chrome running, your computer awake, and the watched website reachable. The original page tab can be closed. Checking an online website for new changes requires internet access; browser scheduling can be delayed by sleep or device load. WHAT YOU CAN WATCH - Price changes and product availability, including back-in-stock page updates. - New job postings, announcements, product releases, and policy changes. - Competitor pages and other visible content updates. Use PageLens as a page monitor to get website change alerts instead of repeatedly refreshing a page yourself. Choose checks from every 5 minutes to every 7 days, or run a one-time check. Local checks compare visible page text by default. Your instruction records what matters to you; optional analysis through your own model provider can help interpret changes. Frequently changing page text can produce extra alerts. LOCAL CHANGE HISTORY, AVAILABLE OFFLINE Review saved checks, added and removed text, timestamps, and page evidence in the built-in Local workspace. Local history stays in this browser and can be viewed offline. Export a standalone HTML report to read saved changes without a connection. Pause or resume a watch, check now, and use light, dark, or system appearance. Basic change detection works without an API token. For AI analysis, add your own model API token in Settings > Local AI setup, save, test the connection, and enable AI for the watches you choose. Model usage is billed by your provider. A setup reminder never blocks basic monitoring. Running, error, and paused labels make watch status visible. OPTIONAL ACCOUNT AND CLOUD Sign in to enable optional backup of local task configurations and restore them on another device. Page content and local check history are excluded from this backup, and restored watches need fresh site permission. A free account includes one active cloud watch. Cloud checks continue when Chrome is closed. Paid accounts support unlimited cloud watches; this release does not display a price or include a checkout flow. NOTIFICATIONS WHERE YOU WORK Use browser notifications, or connect Slack, Discord, and Microsoft Teams with your own webhook. These connected channels require a PageLens account and channel setup. Cloud watches also support email after the recipient confirms the address. Browser notification display requires Chrome to be running. PRIVACY AND CONTROL PageLens checks pages you explicitly select. Local check history remains in this browser. AI watch suggestions are on by default when you open PageLens and send bounded current-page content through PageLens Cloud to its AI provider; turn them off in Settings. If you enable a personal model for local check analysis, bounded evidence is sent directly to your chosen provider. Model settings and API keys are stored locally and excluded from backups and exports. Local webhook alerts send a watch title, a page URL without query parameters, and a change event through PageLens Cloud to your selected channel; they do not send local page text or history. Account backup, cloud watches, and analytics are separate, optional choices. Site access is granted per site. Browser watches can use the session already available in Chrome. Optional signed-in access for cloud checks uses site-scoped encrypted cookies for no more than three days or their own expiry. PageLens stops at CAPTCHA, MFA, device confirmation, and expired sessions; it does not bypass them. Anonymous analytics are off until you opt in and exclude page URLs, page content, cookies, email addresses, watch instructions, screenshots, model keys, and AI output.
