Overview

Select pages from a PDF and copy them as text, Markdown or an image, or download them as a new PDF. Everything is processed locally.

PageClip lets you select only the pages you need from a PDF and take them anywhere: copy them as text, Markdown or an image, or download a new PDF that contains just those pages. GIVE YOUR AI THE RIGHT CONTEXT Instead of giving an AI assistant a 200-page PDF, select the pages that matter for your question and paste exactly that. It works just as well for notes, documents, emails, or any app where you can paste. HOW IT WORKS 1. Open a PDF in Chrome. 2. Click the PageClip button on the PDF (or the toolbar icon, or press Alt+Shift+P). 3. Select pages: click a page, Shift+click for a range, or type pages like 2, 5, 8-10. 4. Choose how to copy (Text, Markdown or Image), click Copy, and paste with Ctrl+V (⌘V on Mac). 5. Or click Download PDF to save a new PDF with only the selected pages. COPY FORMATS • Text: plain text that keeps line breaks, paragraphs, lists and reading order, with page markers such as [Page 3]. • Markdown: headings, lists and tables, handy for AI chats and note-taking apps. • Image: a PNG of the pages exactly as they look, useful for charts, diagrams and scanned pages. Several pages are combined into one image (up to 16 pages). DOWNLOAD A NEW PDF The new PDF is built from the original pages, not from screenshots, so text stays selectable and quality is unchanged. It is named after the original, for example report-selected-3-7-12.pdf. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • PDFs are processed locally in your browser. PageClip has no servers: your PDFs, extracted text and images are never sent to the developer or to any third party. • No account or sign-in. No AI API. No analytics or tracking. • To read the PDF you are viewing, PageClip requests it again from the website it came from, usually straight from your browser's cache. Paste into any AI chat, such as ChatGPT or Claude, or into any other app. PageClip does not connect to these services; you decide where your content goes. LANGUAGES English and Spanish, chosen automatically from Chrome's language. IMPORTANT NOTES • Scanned PDFs: there is no OCR yet. Pages without a text layer can still be copied as Image or downloaded. • Password-protected PDFs are not supported. For other encrypted PDFs, Download PDF saves the pages as images. • The downloaded PDF keeps the page content, but not bookmarks; interactive form fields may not keep working. • Text and Markdown are converted automatically and work best with standard layouts; complex layouts may need a quick review. • Local files (file://) need “Allow access to file URLs” turned on in PageClip's extension details. • Some PDFs can't be fetched again (for example, one-time download links). If that happens, drag the file into PageClip. • PageClip works on PDFs opened in Chrome's PDF viewer, not on PDFs embedded inside other web pages.
