Page Action
Overview
An extension for Page Assist that adds browser actions on the active tab.
Page Action is a companion extension for Page Assist. It lets Page Assist act on the page you're viewing — so your local AI Install it alongside Page Assist, then in Page Assist add Page Action as a "Browser extension" tool and approve the connection. Page Assist can then drive the active tab to carry out tasks you ask for in chat. What it can do: • Read the page — list interactive elements, extract readable text, capture a screenshot • Interact — click, type, scroll, press keys, select dropdowns, drag, and draw on canvases • Navigate — open URLs, go back, wait for pages to load, switch and group tabs • Inspect — run JavaScript, read console messages and network requests, upload files How it works: Page Action only talks to extensions you approve. Page Assist is allowed by default; any other extension must be approved in the popup before it can connect. Actions run on the currently active tab using Chrome's debugging protocol, so Chrome shows a "Page Action started debugging this browser" banner while it is active — this is expected. Privacy: Page Action does not collect, store, or transmit your data to any server. It acts on the active tab only when an approved extension requests it, and everything stays on your device. Requirements: • Page Assist installed • A Chrome / Chromium-based browser Page Action is open source and part of the Page Assist project
