Pacatus

A calm new tab with wallpapers, themes, search, tasks, notes, a focus timer and weather.

Pacatus turns every new tab into a calm, living landscape, and gives you a small critter companion that helps on every site you visit. A NEW TAB THAT FEELS LIKE A PLACE • A generated landscape whose sky follows the real sun and moon for your location: dawn, day, dusk and night • Big clock, greeting and daily quote • Weather for your city • Wallpapers and themes, or upload your own image • Light and dark modes that follow the scene • Zen mode for a quiet, distraction-free screen GET THINGS DONE • Search with your favourite engine • Quick links, or your most visited sites • Tasks with reminders • Notes • Focus timer • Command palette (Alt+K) on any page to jump to tabs, tasks, notes and actions • Popup and side panel so your tasks and notes are one click away YOUR PAGE BUDDY Pick a critter, and it sits quietly in the corner of every page. Select some text and it can: • Translate it, or translate the whole page • Look up the meaning • Copy it, search it, or read it aloud • Save it to your notes It also keeps a clipboard history, lets you drop sticky notes on pages, save pages for later, and shows what's playing in your other tabs. OPTIONAL EXTRAS • Vim-style keys for browsing without a mouse • A daily counter for short videos, to help you notice your scrolling PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account and no tracking. Your tasks, notes, links and settings stay in your browser's storage. Text is only sent to a translation or dictionary service when you ask the buddy to look it up.
