Overview

See whether a LinkedIn job's pay range is below, within or above market, using U.S. government wage data.

Pay ranges are now on most job postings, but a range alone does not tell you whether it is fair. RangeCheck adds the missing comparison. Open a LinkedIn job that shows a pay range and a small card appears on the page: - A verdict: below market, within market range, or above market - The 25th percentile, median and 75th percentile for the matching occupation, in the job's state or metro area when available - How far the posted midpoint sits from the median - The data source and year, always shown Free: 5 checks a day. Pro (one-time $19 purchase, sold through Polar, not through the Chrome Web Store): unlimited checks, the employer's own H-1B wage filings for the same title, and an offer check that tells you what percentile any offer amount lands at. Where the numbers come from: the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (OEWS) and U.S. Department of Labor H-1B disclosure files. H-1B wages use the bottom of each filing's offered pay range, so employer medians run a little low compared with OEWS, and percentiles count each filing once. These are estimates for information, not pay guarantees or advice. When a job title is too ambiguous to match with confidence, RangeCheck shows no verdict instead of guessing. Privacy: no accounts, no tracking, no ads, no data sold. To look up wages, only the normalized job title, the state and city, and (Pro only) the company name are sent to the RangeCheck data service, with an app key that identifies the app, not you. Pro license keys are checked with Polar. Everything else stays in your browser. See the privacy policy. Job titles are matched with the O*NET 30.0 Database (USDOL/ETA, CC BY 4.0; modified). O*NET is a trademark of USDOL/ETA. RangeCheck is not affiliated with or endorsed by LinkedIn, the Department of Labor or the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
