Add an image. Drop in a transparent image, type a quick lower third, or copy a ready-made prompt for the AI image tool you already use. Images are resized and stored on your computer. 2. Join your call. Pick the image from the toolbar icon. On most platforms your own tile stays clean. A preview panel shows exactly what participants see — and before the call starts, it lets you check your look on your camera without sending anything. Drag it anywhere on screen. 3. Switch any time. Change the image or turn it off from the toolbar icon while the call is running. No rejoining, no reconnecting. Images added to your library mid-call are available straight away. ────────────────────────────────────────── THREE WAYS TO MAKE AN OVERLAY ────────────────────────────────────────── · YOUR OWN IMAGE — Make a 16:9 image with transparency wherever your camera should show through. There's no position setting: the image's own transparency decides where everything lands. PNG, WebP, AVIF or GIF. A solid green background is removed for you. Each import is measured and checked, and safe-zone guides show what survives phone and grid layouts. · TYPED LOWER THIRD — A title, an optional subtitle and a color. Text color is chosen for contrast automatically, and the size adapts to fit a phone screen. Warns — never blocks — if your text is too long for phones. · DESCRIBED TO AN AI TOOL — Pick a kind (lower third, sign, side panel or frame) and copy a prompt that tells your AI image tool where things must go to survive the crop. Follow-up lines for when the first try needs adjusting. It's just text you copy: the extension never contacts the tool. ────────────────────────────────────────── A VEIL FOR YOUR ROOM ────────────────────────────────────────── Background blur isn't always an option: it takes processing power, and changing it mid-call can interrupt the overlay. Add a veil to any image in your library instead — a see-through layer over the sides of your video that fades out what's behind you, while the centre, where you sit, stays clear. · White or dark, soft or strong. Participants see it the right way round. Works in Chrome on a desktop or laptop. Not supported: desktop meeting apps, and phone browsers, which don't run extensions. Nothing is recorded, saved to disk or sent anywhere by the extension. · Your images and settings are stored locally in the browser's extension storage. Uninstalling removes them. · Overlaysmith does not read participant names, chat, meeting titles, page content or audio. · No analytics, telemetry, tracking or advertising identifiers. · One external connection: ExtPay, to check whether this browser has the clean version and to process the payment if you buy it.
