If a language isn't available natively on a video, Overheard asks YouTube to auto-translate from whichever track the video does have. Because of this, subtitle availability and quality depend on what captions the video itself provides — videos with no captions at all won't have subtitles here either, and auto-generated tracks won't be as accurate as manually written ones. PRIVACY Overheard only requests caption data for the YouTube video you're currently watching and looks up word translations when you tap them. It doesn't track your browsing or collect personal data.
