Outlook Unread Badge
Overview
Sets unread email count on the installed Outlook app icon using the Badging API.
Outlook Unread Badge puts your unread email count right on the Outlook app icon in your Dock or taskbar — just like a native mail app. Use Outlook Web or Outlook PWA? Install the extension and you'll see at a glance how many messages are waiting, without opening the window. The count appears as an app icon badge and, optionally, in the page title. KEY FEATURES - Unread count on the app icon (Dock / Taskbar) - Optional counter in the page title, e.g. "(2) Mail - ..." - Counts folders from your Favorites — you decide what matters - Smart defaults: Drafts, Deleted, Junk, Sent and Archive are excluded out of the box, in any Outlook language - Custom include/exclude rules per folder - Works with work and school accounts behind Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps (see below) - UI available in 16 languages SUPPORTED DOMAINS - outlook.office.com - outlook.live.com - outlook.cloud.microsoft - outlook.cloud.microsoft.mcas.ms (optional, opt-in) WORK OR SCHOOL ACCOUNT BEHIND A SECURITY PROXY? If your organization routes Outlook through Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps (the address ends with .mcas.ms), enable "Defender for Cloud Apps (MCAS) Support" in the extension settings — or simply click the extension icon while on your Outlook tab and use the one-click prompt. The browser asks for permission for that single domain, and only after you opt in. PRIVACY Everything happens locally in your browser. No email content, addresses or browsing data is ever collected or sent anywhere.
