Overview

Stop losing bookmarks: a new tab start page that finds any bookmark as you type. Tags, not folders. Save any page in one keystroke.

You know you saved it. Somewhere. A recipe, an article, the docs page you needed last month. So you search Google for it again, or you keep the tab open "for later" until the browser restarts and it's gone too. Browser bookmarks are where links go to disappear. Folders make you decide where every link belongs, and months later you have to remember what you decided. Otlet fixes this by turning your new tab into a bookmark manager you search instead of dig through. Open a new tab, type three letters, and the bookmark is there. No folders to remember: tags, as many per link as it needs, suggested for you. FIND ANY BOOKMARK IN SECONDS • One box searches titles, addresses, your notes and tags at once; Enter opens the first result • Narrow down with #tag, leave things out with -#tag, or use site:github.com • Save a search you repeat as a smart view and get back to it in one click • From the address bar too: type "h", a space and what you're looking for SAVE IT, THEN CLOSE THE TAB • Press ⌘⇧S (Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows and Linux) on any page: add a tag or two, press Enter, done. Otlet suggests tags from your library • No time to tag? Right-click any page or link to drop it in the Inbox, and sort it later in a quick one-by-one triage • Bookmarks you add the usual way (⌘D / Ctrl+D) land in the Inbox too, so nothing gets lost in a folder A START PAGE YOU'LL ACTUALLY USE • Your pinned tags, saved searches and most used sites, what you saved this week, and one old link to rediscover each time • It's also your web search: use your browser's search engine or choose another one, go straight to typed addresses, and get suggestions as you type if you want them • The Library shows every link as a card or a list, by tag, smart view or Inbox, sorted by newest, oldest, most opened or A to Z • A painted Golden Gate backdrop that follows your light or dark theme, or the time of day, or none at all TRY IT WITHOUT RISKING ANYTHING • Import your browser bookmarks in one click: folders become tags (Bookmarks bar › Dev › Rust becomes #dev #rust), and your browser bookmarks stay exactly where they are • Coming from another browser or bookmarking app? Import its bookmarks export file. Duplicates merge into one link • Free, and works without an account or sign-up YOUR BOOKMARKS STAY YOURS • Your library is stored in your browser, on your computer. No ads, no analytics, no tracking, and Otlet never changes your searches or adds affiliate links • Crash reports are off unless you turn them on. If you do, a report says only what broke in Otlet's own code, never your links, searches, notes or tags • Back it up yourself: Settings → Import & export saves your whole library, tags and notes included, to a backup file. Import it on any computer to bring it all back, merged with what's already there • Never locked in: export your links as a bookmarks file that any browser can import, tags included • Features that need more access ask for it only when you turn them on Named after Paul Otlet, who around 1910 ran a search service on millions of index cards, decades before the web. Your bookmarks deserve the same: everything you've saved, one search away. Privacy policy: https://otlet.page/privacy
