Let Orthex use Chrome for you. Orthex for Chrome is the companion extension for the Orthex desktop app (https://orthex.ai). It lets the Orthex AI agent running on your computer carry out browser tasks you request — open sites, fill in forms and find answers — right in your browser, one visible step at a time. WHAT ORTHEX CAN DO FOR YOU • Find information across websites and bring the answer back to your chat • Fill in web forms for you to review before you submit • Navigate multi-step pages: search, filter, open results, switch between tabs • Continue a task in the same tab in a later chat turn ALWAYS VISIBLE, ALWAYS IN YOUR CONTROL • Controlled tabs join an "Orthex" tab group, get a badge on their icon and show Chrome's "is debugging this browser" banner • An animated agent cursor shows what Orthex is reading, clicking or typing • Click "Release All" in the popup at any time to stop the agent and hand the tab back • Your own tab groups and pinned tabs are never changed PRIVATE BY DESIGN • The extension talks only to the Orthex desktop app on your computer via Chrome Native Messaging. It has no server of its own and makes no network requests to Orthex or third parties. • Password, one-time-code and payment-card field values are redacted before page data leaves the extension. • Nothing happens until you give Orthex a task. Each action is checked against the current page before it runs. GETTING STARTED 1. Install this extension. 2. Download the Orthex desktop app (macOS or Windows) at https://orthex.ai/download and sign in. 3. Click the Orthex icon in your toolbar — it should say "Connected to Orthex". 4. Ask Orthex to do something in your browser. The extension does nothing on its own until the desktop app starts a browser task.
