Orrie is a small AI chat that opens right next to your text. Highlight words on any page or click into a text box, and a glowing dot appears. Tap it to rewrite, explain, translate or ask anything, then apply the answer straight back into the text box without leaving the page. Orrie works straight away with free daily messages and no account. If you use it a lot, add your own API key from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, OpenRouter and more, or connect a model running on your own computer. Features - One-tap actions: improve writing, fix spelling and grammar, make shorter, summarise, explain, translate, draft a reply and summarise this page. Reorder them, turn them off or write your own. - Apply in place: replace the text in your text box with the answer, or insert it after, in one click. - Your page keeps its focus: Orrie types through its own small editor, so your cursor and selection stay where they were. - Shake to summon: give your mouse a quick side-to-side shake to open Orrie where your cursor is. You can tune how firm the shake needs to be. - Select from the page: circle or drag over part of the page, like a chart or a photo, to add it to the chat as a screenshot along with the text inside it. Nothing sends until you're ready. - Attach files: images, PDFs and text or code files, up to six at a time. Large files need your own key. - Three tiers: Quick for small edits, Balanced for everyday work and Deep for hard problems. Switch any time. - Bring your own key: works with providers that support the OpenAI-compatible Chat Completions or Responses API, including local models through Ollama or LM Studio. Choose the model behind each tier. - Full-page chat: continue any chat in a full-page view with search, message editing and your chat history. - Keyboard shortcut: Alt+J (Option+J on a Mac) opens Orrie on your selection. Esc closes it. - Personalisation: spelling, response style, translation language and custom instructions. - Turn it off on any site, or hide the dot and only use the shake or the shortcut. - Free: 5 Deep, 50 Quick and 8 Balanced messages a day, with no account. - Settings shows how many messages you have left today. Privacy - No account, no ads and no analytics. - Your settings, API keys and chat history are saved in your browser only. - Nothing is sent until you send a message or tap an action. Then Orrie sends your message, the text you highlighted or the text box you're in, any files or selected areas you add, and the page title and site name. Actions like Summarise this page and Draft a reply also include the page's text. You can turn page context off in Settings. - Free messages go through Orrie's server to OpenAI. The server doesn't store what you send. To enforce daily limits it keeps a random install ID, message counts and a daily-changing hash of your IP address, and deletes them after two days. - With your own key, requests go straight from your browser to the provider you chose. - Chat history can be turned off, set to expire, or deleted at any time.
