OrigEU — EU Origin

Shows the origin of brands (EU, EFTA or elsewhere) while you shop at supported online supermarkets.

OrigEU shows the recorded country of origin of a product's brand while you shop online. Origin badges appear in product listings and detail views, and on some sites in search suggestions. WHERE IT WORKS OrigEU works on supported online supermarkets. The extension only runs on compatible shopping sites declared in its permissions. WHAT THE BADGES MEAN - EU: the brand is associated with a European Union country. - EFTA: the brand is associated with Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein. - Other country: the brand is associated with a country outside the EU and EFTA. - Unknown origin: the brand is not yet in the database. Click a badge to view its source, when one has been recorded. You can suggest a missing brand or a correction without leaving the page. The toolbar lets you show or hide badges, hide unknown-origin badges, and choose a long, medium or compact style. An optional "unBrexit" setting changes how UK badges are displayed; it does not change the recorded data. OrigEU is available in English, European Portuguese, German, Spanish, French and Italian. LIMITATIONS Origin data is recorded at brand level, not for individual products. A product may be manufactured elsewhere or have a regional or licensing exception. OrigEU is a guide, not an official origin certification. PRIVACY No analytics, ads or account are required. Product names are matched locally in your browser and are not sent automatically. The extension downloads public brand and country data; it sends a suggestion only when you choose to submit one.
