Overview
Replace Chrome's tab bar with a vertical tabs sidebar and organized Spaces for context-based browsing.
Orbits replaces Chrome's cluttered tab bar with a clean, vertical tabs sidebar organized into Spaces — separate browsing contexts you can switch between instantly. Stop drowning in tabs. Group your work, personal browsing, research, and projects into separate Spaces. Each Space has its own tabs, groups, pins, and favorites. Switch between them with a single click or keyboard shortcut. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ KEY FEATURES ◆ Spaces — Create unlimited browsing contexts. Work, personal, research — each Space maintains its own set of tabs, completely separate from the others. Switch instantly without losing your place. ◆ Vertical Tab Sidebar — See all your tabs at a glance in a side panel. Tab titles, favicons, and indicators are clearly visible. No more squished tab bar. ◆ Smart Tab Groups — Drag tabs together or use the context menu to create Chrome tab groups. Groups are color-coded and collapsible. Auto-sort organizes tabs by domain automatically. ◆ Favorites Bar — Pin frequently visited sites to a favorites bar within each Space for one-click access. ◆ Pins Integration — Link pin folders to each Space. Drag tabs to pins to save them, or click pins to open them. ◆ Gesture Navigation — Swipe left/right on the spaces bar to switch between Spaces with smooth animations. ◆ Keyboard Shortcuts — Full keyboard control: • Ctrl+Shift+E — Toggle the side panel • Ctrl+Shift+Left/Right — Switch to previous/next Space • Ctrl+Shift+L — Pin/unpin the side panel ◆ Customizable — Personalize your experience: • Light, dark, or system theme • Adjustable font size and font family • Custom accent colors • UI scale options (small, medium, large, auto) ◆ Auto-Naming — Spaces automatically name themselves based on their tabs' domains (e.g., a Space with GitHub tabs becomes "GitHub"). Rename anytime. ◆ Space Persistence — Spaces survive window closes and reappear when you restart Chrome. Your browsing contexts are never lost. ◆ Orbits Bookmark Organization — Each Space gets its own bookmark folders under an Orbits/ parent, keeping your pins organized automatically. ◆ Auto-Close Inactive Tabs — Optionally close tabs that haven't been visited in a configurable time period. Favorites and pins are always protected. ◆ Tab Context Menu — Right-click any tab for quick actions: close, group, add to favorites, or add to pins. ◆ Hide Bookmarks Bar — Toggle Chrome's bookmarks bar visibility from Settings for a cleaner browsing experience. ◆ Space Colors — Each Space gets a color from a curated palette. Change colors via the context menu to visually distinguish your contexts. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ HOW IT WORKS 1. Click the Orbits icon in your toolbar (or press Ctrl+Shift+E) to open the side panel. 2. Your current tabs appear in a vertical list. This is your first Space. 3. Click the "+" button in the spaces bar to create new Spaces. 4. Drag tabs, create groups, add favorites and pins within each Space. 5. Switch between Spaces by clicking the space indicators or using Ctrl+Shift+Left/Right. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ PRIVACY Orbits does NOT collect, transmit, or share any user data. All data (spaces, preferences, bookmarks) is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage API. No analytics, no tracking, no server calls. CATEGORY Productivity LANGUAGE English
