Orbit is an accessibility tool that helps you identify accessibility issues as early as possible in the development process. The extension runs axe-core against your current page and flags critical, serious, and moderate violations, no setup, no external services, no code changes required. Built for developers and designers who want to catch common accessibility problems early. Scan any page, review flagged violations by severity, and know exactly where to start looking before conducting a manual review. Business owners are welcome to use Orbit, but should understand it will not fix accessibility issues on your website or make you legally compliant. It's a starting point, one that helps you uncover the most common issues facing website owners today. What Orbit does: - Scans the active tab using the axe-core API. - Groups violations by severity: Critical, Serious, and Moderate. - Points you in the right direction for further manual analysis and intervention. - Identifies missing alt text on images, missing form labels, invalid or misused ARIA attributes, and empty table headers. What Orbit does NOT do: - Guarantee compliance. No scan tool can make you compliant. - Modify your page, generate reports, or certify WCAG conformance in any way. - Replace human judgment or the manual review process. - Test hidden regions such as inactive menus or modal windows, unless those areas are visible at the time of the scan. Accessibility requires human judgment. Orbit helps you understand where the lowest-hanging fruit is. Automated tools built with the axe-core API can surface up to 25% of known WCAG issues. Orbit makes sure you're not missing the ones it can find. It is not a replacement for human judgement, or a guarantee of compliance.
