Orbit for Halo

HaloPSA workspace improvements. Tested only on one self-hosted instance (v2.236.81); cloud and other versions unverified.

Make Halo work your way. Orbit for Halo adds optional workspace, navigation, sharing and editor improvements to your signed-in HaloPSA agent site in Microsoft Edge. CONNECT AND CHOOSE Connect one HTTPS Halo agent instance and approve access to that host. Every feature switch starts off, including the master switch. Choose individual features or enable the recommended settings. Settings are saved locally in your Edge profile, and existing choices survive upgrades. WORKSPACE AND NAVIGATION - Open supported ticket links, child tickets, related tickets and incidents in Halo's internal workspace tabs. - Route incoming ticket links to your selected main Halo browser tab and reuse tickets already open there. - Keep the ticket-list sidebar beside tickets, and use the leftmost list-only tab when choosing another list view. - Reorder internal tabs with a floating preview and insertion marker, open new tabs at the far right, and reopen up to 15 recently closed tabs. Draft recovery depends on Halo's own cache. - Close the last internal tab to Halo's Home page, improve exact-ticket search navigation, and retain search positions. - Keep completed background actions closed when returning to their ticket, and improve history scrolling, action positioning and long search-result wrapping. CLEARER LABELS AND SHARING - Show contextual titles and links for tickets, clients, sites, users, assets and filtered views. - Copy readable ticket links with configurable ID, subject length and an optional client or assigned-agent suffix. - Copy from supported Halo Share controls or linked tab titles. Edge's address-bar Link copy format can use Orbit's page titles, including an asset name and its assigned client. - Optionally remove extra ticket-view URL parameters while retaining necessary list context. ACTION EDITOR AND HISTORY - Add inline-code and multiline code-block formatting, paired/triple-backtick conversion, and keyboard shortcuts for lists, code and horizontal lines. - Show shortcut tooltips and expose native strikethrough and indent/outdent controls. Halo's native Quote menu remains available. - Move the attachment control into the Note toolbar while using Halo's existing file picker, and improve Note editor resizing. - Display #ticketID references as links in saved actions and toggle an action's displayed colors for readability. These display features do not rewrite saved notes or outgoing emails. - Choose newest-first history, repair history jump controls, fit history inside its pane and improve where newly opened actions appear. SETTINGS Find features with local search, use numbered switches in alphabetized sections, export/import feature preferences as a JSON file, or use dark mode in Settings and the popup. Exported settings do not include your connected instance, site permissions, main-tab selection or dark-mode preference. OPTIONAL HALO RECORD OPERATIONS Merge/link enhancements use Halo's own review, authenticated actions and permissions after your confirmation. Merging or linking changes real Halo records and can affect other technicians. Separately, enabling Delete clicked ticket notifications removes the opened notification from your Halo account across devices; disabling Orbit cannot restore it. Both features are off by default, and notification deletion is excluded from recommended settings. PRIVACY Orbit processes the configured Halo site's URLs, loaded names and record fields locally for the features you enable. Some optional features access rendered saved note/email text. It stores preferences and connection information locally, not ticket contents. It does not read passwords, authentication tokens or existing clipboard contents, and needs no Halo API key. There are no ads, analytics, remote executable code or publisher/third-party uploads. Halo continues to handle its normal requests, uploads and confirmed record changes. Copied content is handled by Edge and the applications you paste into under their own policies. COMPATIBILITY Requires a signed-in HaloPSA agent instance with compatible internal workspace tabs. Orbit has only been developed and live-tested on one self-hosted HaloPSA v2.236.81 instance. Other instances, cloud hosting and other/newer/future Halo versions are unverified and may not work correctly or at all. HTTP, subfolder installations and InPrivate are not supported. Halo frontend changes or tenant customizations may affect functionality. AVAILABILITY Orbit is provided as-is, without warranty or support.
