Overview
Watches Gmail Spam for dangerous senders and auto-reports them. One-click manual reporting for Gmail and Outlook too.
OpenShield is a crowdsourced anti-spam and anti-phishing platform. The extension's default mode for Gmail is automatic: connect your account once, and OpenShield watches your Spam folder itself, flags dangerous senders, and reports the clear-cut cases on your behalf — no button to click. It never modifies, labels, or deletes anything in your mailbox; the only action it ever takes is filing an OpenShield report. If a sender is already known to be dangerous, OpenShield tells you the moment you open the email — a banner shows the risk tier and how many other people have reported the same sender, with one-click buttons to report it yourself or start a data-rights request. Prefer to handle a specific email yourself? Click "Report to OpenShield" next to it in Gmail or Outlook, right-click a sender or link, or add one manually from the popup. Every report is checked against the sender's real authentication headers (SPF/DKIM/DMARC) before it counts, and reports accumulate publicly toward escalation: registrar/host notices, public naming, and — for cases the community chooses to fund — a legal-escrow process that can retain a verified law firm as a last resort. OpenShield never reads, stores, or transmits your email content beyond what's needed to verify the one message you report (see "Data safety" below for the one exception: connected accounts' own retained Spam-folder previews).
