Openly shows you when the emails you send from Gmail are opened, how many times, and when. HOW IT WORKS 1. Write an email in Gmail. An "Openly" box appears next to Send. Leave it ticked to track that email. 2. When you press Send, Openly adds a tiny invisible image to the message. 3.Open your dashboard to see each email, how many times it was opened, and a timeline of every open. WHAT YOU GET • Open counts and a timeline for every tracked email • Tracked PDFs: attach a PDF in Gmail and Openly turns it into a link you can follow. See when it is opened and which pages were read, and for how long (untick the PDFs box to attach normally) • A button in Gmail's top bar with a panel of your latest opens and clicks • A green dot on the toolbar icon when there is something new, and a count on the Gmail button • Ticks beside your sent emails in Gmail's list: grey when tracked, green when opened (switch them off in the popup) • Link tracking: see which links in your email were clicked, and when (switch it off per email with the Links box) • Your own opens are left out, so you are not counting yourself • Automatic image loads are labelled, so a mail app that loads images for everyone does not look like a real read • A rough hint when an email was opened in more than one kind of mail app, which can mean it was forwarded or read on another device • Light and dark themes PRIVATE BY DESIGN • Sign in with Google. Openly only receives your name and email address. It never uses the Gmail API and never reads your inbox. • The extension reads the compose window you are sending from (recipients, subject and link addresses of an email you chose to track), and, on the list pages, each row's subject, addresses and time, on your computer only, to show ticks. Nothing from the list is sent to Openly. • Only a coarse mail-app label is kept for each open, never the viewer's browser details. • Delete your account and all its data yourself from the dashboard, at any time. GOOD TO KNOW • Open tracking is a rough signal. Some mail apps load images for everyone, and some block them. • Tell your recipients if the law where you or they live requires it. See the privacy policy for what recipients should know. • The whole email is tracked as one: opens are not told apart per recipient.
