Overview

Work with OpenArt in your browser and send references or files to new desktop work sessions.

OpenArt for Chrome brings your browser into your OpenArt creative workflow. Ask about a page, collect visual references, and send work to the OpenArt desktop app. Capture inspiration • Right-click a page, link, selected text, image, video or audio and choose Ask to use it as a reference. • Save images and other supported media to the selected OpenArt project's Uploads. • Save a selected screenshot area, the visible page, or a video frame. • Use the side panel to ask a question, recreate a visual reference in Desktop, choose a project, and revisit recent work sessions. • Drop or paste files, links and text into the side panel. Remove a reference or start a new work session whenever you want. Work with your browser • Ask the OpenArt agent in Desktop to work on websites you are already signed in to. • Tabs opened for a work session stay together in a named tab group. • OpenArt asks before the agent uses each website. Manage site access in Desktop under Settings → Permissions → Websites. • Chrome shows a debugging indicator while the agent is attached to a tab. Cancel it at any time to stop that connection. Getting started Install or update OpenArt Desktop for macOS and open it: https://desktop.openart.ai/download This extension requires the desktop app. The side panel shows its connection status. Privacy and data use The extension connects to OpenArt Desktop on your computer through Chrome native messaging. Tab titles, URLs and state are shared with Desktop to support browser tasks. OpenArt account and project identifiers keep captures associated with the correct destination. When you use capture, Ask, Save or Recreate, your questions and instructions, selected page content, text, links, media, screenshots or files are sent to Desktop for that action. Saved media and screenshots can be uploaded by Desktop to your selected OpenArt cloud project; content used in an AI task is processed by the services used by Desktop. Drafts and recent capture records are also stored locally in the extension. Page scripts and screenshots for capture are triggered by your actions, using temporary access to the selected tab. What's new in 0.2.9 Side panel, Ask and Save context menus, screenshot capture, project selection, recent work sessions, reference removal and new-session controls.
