Remove AI Chapters for YouTube™ - Hide Chapters
Overview
Hide YouTube AI-generated chapters (auto chapters, key moments) and keep creator chapters. Or hide all chapters to avoid spoilers.
Remove AI chapters from YouTube videos — and keep the chapters creators made themselves. YouTube now adds AI-generated chapters (also called auto chapters or "key moments") to videos that never had chapters. They are often wrong, cut the progress bar into pieces, and their titles give away what happens next. There is no setting to turn them off as a viewer. This extension does it. WHAT IT DOES • Hides YouTube's AI-generated chapters from the progress bar, the chapter title next to the time, and the chapter list • Keeps creator-made chapters (the timestamps a creator writes in the description) • Optional: hide all chapters, creator chapters included — no chapter spoilers in sports, movies, reviews or games • Works on the first video you open and on every video you move to after it • The popup tells you how many AI chapters were removed on the current video HOW IT WORKS YouTube marks AI chapters differently from creator chapters in the page data. The extension removes only the AI set before the player draws it, so the progress bar stays clean instead of flickering. PRIVATE AND LIGHT • Runs on youtube.com only • No data collection, no analytics, no ads, no network requests • One permission: storage (to remember your two switches) Not affiliated with YouTube or Google. YouTube is a trademark of Google LLC.
