OnX
Overview
Detects doomscrolling and locks distracting tabs until you get back on task.
OnX helps you stop doomscrolling. When you turn it on, it watches the tabs you’re actually focused on and uses AI to detect when you’ve slipped into mindless scrolling on sites like YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, and X. If OnX decides you’re doomscrolling, it locks those distracting tabs (and new tabs on the same sites) until you’ve stayed off them for about five minutes. Toggle it off anytime to stop tracking. How it works: • Toggle OnX on from the extension icon • Sign in with Google so your activity stays private to your account • OnX checks focused-tab activity about once a minute • When doomscrolling is detected, a lock overlay appears on those tabs • Locks clear after you’ve spent five minutes away from the locked sites Privacy notes: • OnX only collects data while it’s toggled on • It reads visible page text, titles, and hostnames from active tabs • That data is sent to the OnX backend, which uses OpenAI to make the judgment • Page content is held in memory only and is not sold or used for ads Turn OnX on when you need focus. Turn it off when you don’t.
