OnWatch: Gmail Reminder
Overview
A calm reminder when you open Gmail: OnWatch is already watching for the replies that matter, so you can close the tab.
OnWatch watches Gmail for the replies that matter — a specific person, a whole company domain, or a single thread — and sends you a quiet notification when they arrive. No need to keep Gmail open or keep refreshing. This extension is a gentle nudge. When you open Gmail, a small card appears for a few seconds: • If you haven't set anything up yet, it offers a one-click way to add a watch. • If OnWatch is already watching conversations for you, it says so, and reminds you that you can close the tab. That's it. It fades on its own after 12 seconds, closes with Esc or a click outside, and by default shows at most once a day. Controls in the toolbar popup: • Turn the reminder on or off • Choose how often: once a day, once a week, or every time you open Gmail • "Don't show this again" turns it off right from the card Privacy, by design: • The extension never reads, scans, or stores your email. It does not touch Gmail's page content. • The only network request it makes goes to onwatch.tech, to fetch two values: whether you're signed in and how many active watches you have. • No analytics, no tracking, no ads, no remote code. • Settings are stored locally in your browser. OnWatch itself (onwatch.tech) uses Gmail's metadata-only permission — it never reads message bodies — and notifications contain no message content by default. Requires a free OnWatch account at https://onwatch.tech.
