Overview

Set a goal. TypeSafe Jev or OpenAI Decisions checks pages and redirects distractions automatically.

Set a goal. Onward uses your choice of TypeSafe Jev or OpenAI Decisions to check page titles and visible text while you focus. Confidently unrelated pages redirect immediately to your goal page. - Choose a 25, 45, 60, or 90-minute session. - Allow sites you need; stop the session anytime. - Watch your remaining time on the animated focus timer. - See page decisions grouped by goal and measured API response times. - Track total focus time and completed sessions locally; reset anytime. - Report a misclassification by reviewing and sharing the website + goal. - Uncertain decisions and API errors leave pages open. Page checks start immediately when a focus session begins and when a new page is ready. Visible pages are then sampled every ~15 seconds. Unchanged decisions are cached for five minutes. Page checks send your goal, full page URL, title, and up to 12,000 visible text characters to your selected provider after your consent. Form inputs and editable areas are excluded. Bring your own TypeSafe or OpenAI API key; provider API charges apply. Keys are kept separately and sent only to their own provider. Switching providers ends the session and requires new consent. The key, goal, allowlist, and last 40 decisions remain in Chrome session memory and clear when Chrome closes. Focus time and completed-session totals persist only on your device. Only completed sessions add their full duration to focus time; ending early adds nothing. Goals and websites are not stored with those totals. Optional reports send only the reviewed website URL and goal to Onward’s private Vercel Blob store. Query strings and fragments are removed. Reports are retained until deleted and do not automatically retrain models. Keep your receipt for later deletion requests. Chrome internal pages, the Web Store, and protected pages cannot be checked. Onward analyzes visible text; it does not interpret images, audio, or video.
