You scroll a busy WhatsApp chat looking for that one invoice photo, voice note, or PDF someone sent last week. WhatsApp Web shows media mixed into the message stream. Opening each bubble one by one is slow. Saving a handful of files means endless right-clicks. If you handle customer chats, family albums, or business deals on WhatsApp Web, media piles up fast. You need a simple board of what is already on screen — not another bulk messaging tool and not a gray-hat history scraper. WaMedia is a local media archive helper for the chat you currently have open on WhatsApp Web. WHAT WAMEDIA DOES WaMedia scans the open conversation on web.whatsapp.com and builds a gallery from media already rendered in the page, so you can review, open, tag, download, and export without digging bubble by bubble. Scan the open chat Looks at the active conversation for images, videos, audio, and document links already in the DOM — including common blob: URLs WhatsApp uses in the browser. Duplicate thumbs from the same bubble (img + background-image) are deduped. Gallery board An iOS-style dark glass panel opens from a small pill on WhatsApp Web. Media appears in a compact grid with type badges so you can scan quickly. The pill shows how many items are in view. Filter by type Switch between All, Images, Videos, Audio, and Docs without leaving the chat. Select, open, and download Click a card to select it and see details. Multi-select with modifier keys, or select all visible. Open a file in a new tab. Download one item, selected items, or everything currently visible. Blob media is fetched in the page context on your click; https media can use Chrome downloads under a WaMedia/ folder. Tags and notes Add simple tags or a short note per media item. Data is keyed by a hash of the media URL and stored in chrome.storage.local on your profile so it can survive a page refresh. CSV export Export the visible list as CSV (name, type, src, chat title, time if available, tags, note, hash) for your own records. Blob/data sources may be redacted in the CSV for safer sharing. Refresh when you need it Tap Refresh after you scroll or open more media so newly loaded items can appear. WaMedia does not silently harvest your entire account history in the background. Tap Refresh if the gallery is empty — scroll the chat upward to load older media, then Refresh again 5. Filter by Images / Videos / Audio / Docs 6. Select items, Open, Download, or add tags and notes 7. Export CSV when you need a local inventory PRIVACY PROMISE Scanning runs in your browser on the page you already have open.
