Online Shopping Filter — shop on purpose, not on impulse. Find yourself wasting money on things you never wanted to buy? Online Shopping Filter puts a checkpoint between you and the stuff you've decided you're done buying. THE PROBLEM: You go looking for one thing and leave with four. "Just browsing" turns into a full cart in about ninety seconds. By the time you've seen the photos and the reviews, you've already talked yourself into it. Willpower is a terrible filter. A real filter works better. WHAT IT DOES: You pick the things you don't want to shop for — a category, a brand, a product type, anything. Search for one of them, and you get stopped before the results ever load. Open a product page that matches, and it's covered before you can start browsing it. You always get a "Load anyway" button. This is a speed bump, not a lock. HOW IT WORKS — 3 STEPS: Add a filter. Type a word for something you're trying to avoid — "makeup," "sneakers," "headphones." Add related words (optional). Under "makeup," add "lipstick," "mascara," "foundation" so it catches more than the obvious. Up to 5 words per filter, up to 20 filters. Shop normally. That's it. It runs by itself from then on. WHAT YOU GET: Search blocking — search a filtered term and you'll see a clear heads-up before results load, with "Load anyway" or "Return to home." Product page blocking — land on a matching product and the page is covered with an explanation of which filter caught it. WHERE IT WORKS Amazon.com, Amazon.ca, and Amazon.co.uk. More regions coming based on what people ask for. WHO THIS IS FOR: Anyone on a budget who keeps sabotaging it at checkout. People in recovery from a shopping habit who want friction back. Anyone cutting back on a specific category — fast fashion, gadgets, makeup, hobby gear. People who just want their shopping to reflect an actual decision instead of an algorithm's suggestion.
