Smart Calendar lets you create Google Calendar events and Google Tasks in seconds — directly from any webpage. ────────────────────────────────────── TWO WAYS TO USE IT ────────────────────────────────────── 📌 Right-click any text — select a date, event description, or reminder on any webpage, right-click, and choose "Create Calendar event." Smart Calendar reads the selected text, extracts the date and time, and opens a quick-add panel pre-filled with the details. 🗓 Click the toolbar icon — describe your event in plain English ("Team lunch next Friday at noon at Tartine") and let the parser fill in the fields automatically. ────────────────────────────────────── THREE EVENT TYPES ────────────────────────────────────── ⏰ Timed event — with date, time, and duration 📅 All-day event — for holidays, deadlines, and multi-day events ✓ Task — creates a Google Task with a due date and optional time, visible in Google Calendar's Tasks panel ────────────────────────────────────── RICH TEXT NOTES ────────────────────────────────────── Paste any webpage content directly into the Notes field and embedded links are preserved exactly as they appear on the page. When you open the created event in Google Calendar, links are clickable. When using the right-click menu, the Notes field is also automatically pre-filled with the text you selected. ────────────────────────────────────── SMART TITLE GENERATION (OPTIONAL) ────────────────────────────────────── Add your own Claude API key in the extension settings to get AI-generated event titles that intelligently summarise the selected text — stripping out dates, times, and platform names to produce a clean, meaningful title (e.g. "Virtual Parent Info Meeting" from a block of school-newsletter text). The extension works fully without an API key using a built-in parser.
