Auto-group tabs by site, then learn how you organize

Organize your tabs by website with just one click. Click the toolbar icon and your tabs are grouped by site. Sites with only one open tab are gathered into a single ● group, keeping your tab bar tidy. Group tabs your way • Drag a tab into any group, and tabs from that site will join it from then on. • Rename a group (right-click it in the tab bar) and the name sticks. • Prefer full names? Turn on "Use full site names for groups" to see "Instagram" instead of "INS". • Keep a tab or a whole site out of grouping: right-click the page and choose "Don't group this tab" or "Don't group this site". Tidy up inactive tabs automatically Tabs you haven't used for a week move to the 💤 inactive group. Change the duration in Settings, or choose "Never" to turn this off. Start a group's name with "*" to keep its tabs from ever being moved there. For tabs that were already open when you installed the extension, the timer starts at installation. For newer tabs, it starts when the tab is opened or last used. Memory Saver Tabs in the 💤 inactive group can be unloaded automatically to free up memory. Turn it on in Settings. Sync across devices Turn on sync to keep your settings and custom group names the same on all your devices. Optimized for Google Chrome. Other Chromium-based browsers (e.g. Vivaldi) may behave differently because they implement tab groups differently. Recent updates: Version 3.0.4 Option to hide the tab count You can now turn off the superscript tab count shown after group names (e.g. GitHub⁵) in Settings → Group Behavior. Handy if another extension relies on plain group titles. Keep tabs or sites out of grouping Right-click a page (or the toolbar icon → More) and choose "Don't group this tab" or "Don't group this site" to keep it out of grouping. It stays where it is. Use the same menu to remove it again, or manage excluded sites in Settings. Full site names for groups Prefer "Instagram" over "INS"? Turn on "Use full site names for groups" in Settings → Group Behavior. Country sites get a country code, e.g. "Google UK". Groups you renamed keep their names. Bug fixes Tabs you use regularly are no longer moved to the 💤 inactive group when auto-collapse is turned off. Group names stay the same after "Ungroup All" instead of changing (e.g. "GOO" to "GOOG"). Tab activity is now tracked reliably even after Chrome has been idle. Version 2.9 Chrome 145 group label rendering issue We identified a Chrome 145 regression where newly created tab group labels may not paint until manual interaction, even though group titles are correctly updated via the API. We partially mitigated this by reusing existing tab groups whenever possible, but newly created groups can still require one click to display the label. Issue reported to Chromium: https://issues.chromium.org/issues/483537691 Version 2.8 Superscript tab counts Tab group counts now appear as superscripts (e.g., NAV⁷) for a cleaner label. Inactive groups sort last Inactive groups are now always placed at the end when groups are sorted. Version 2.7 Inactive group label now uses 💤 Inactive tab groups now show 💤 instead of "Inactive" for a shorter label. Type "Never" to keep inactive grouping off. Alphabetical tab group ordering After grouping finishes, tab groups are reordered in ASCII alphabetical order so names line up predictably across windows. Version 2.2 Protected groups with * Groups whose names start with * will never have their tabs moved to 💤, so you can pin important workgroups in place.
