ProcMine Browser Recorder Capture your browser-based work and turn it into a reconstructed process map - automatically. The ProcMine Browser Recorder is the browser companion to the ProcMine desktop agent. It captures the interactions that make up your workflow - page navigations, clicks, form inputs, and tab switches - and forwards them, via a secure local channel, to the ProcMine desktop agent running on the same machine. The agent stitches browser events together with desktop activity to reconstruct the full process you followed, so your team can document, analyze, and improve how work actually gets done. This extension is intended for employees of organizations that have deployed ProcMine. It does nothing on its own: the desktop agent must be installed and connected for any data to be transmitted. WHAT THE EXTENSION DOES • Captures page navigations and SPA route changes so each step of your workflow is anchored to a specific page • Captures clicks, form inputs, dropdown selections, and paste events so the reconstructed workflow reflects what you actually did • Captures lightweight DOM element metadata (tag, role, label, aria-attributes) to describe what was clicked or filled in • Forwards every captured event to the ProcMine desktop agent over native messaging - a local stdin/stdout channel between the extension and a program on the same machine • Buffers events locally if the desktop agent is momentarily unavailable, so no step is lost WHAT THE EXTENSION DOES NOT DO • Does not send data to any remote server directly - all communication goes through the local desktop agent • Does not load or execute any remote code; every script that runs is shipped inside this package • Does not capture password fields - values in <input type="password"> are explicitly replaced with [REDACTED] before any event leaves the page • Does not modify the pages you visit or inject content beyond passive event listeners • Does not display ads, track you for advertising, or sell your data WHY IT NEEDS THE PERMISSIONS IT REQUESTS • activeTab and tabs - to label captured events with the URL and title of the page they happened on, and to detect tab switches that are part of your workflow • webNavigation - to capture page loads and single-page-app route changes as first-class workflow steps • scripting and content scripts - to attach the event listeners that record interactions inside each page • nativeMessaging - to send captured events to the ProcMine desktop agent on the same machine (this is the only outbound channel) • storage - to persist connection state and buffer events across service-worker restarts so no events are lost • host_permissions <all_urls> - because workflows span arbitrary internal business systems and external web tools; the set of sites cannot be known in advance PRIVACY The extension is a recording tool used inside organizations that have deployed ProcMine. Captured events are transmitted only to the locally-installed ProcMine desktop agent, which forwards them to the user's own organizational ProcMine workspace. Password fields are redacted. The extension does not sell or share data with third parties; the only external service involved is the customer's own ProcMine deployment.
