Overview

Types your text for you like a real person, in Google Docs and almost any text box. Pick the spot, press start, walk away.

Auto Typer types your text into Google Docs, or almost any text box, one key at a time, like a real person. Paste your text, press Start, and click the spot where it should go: the top of the page, between two sentences, or the end. Auto Typer types it right there with a natural rhythm, short pauses and the odd typo it notices and fixes. Everything around it stays exactly as it was. What it does: • Types like a person: real key presses at a natural, uneven pace, so it works in Google Docs and editors that don't accept pasted or injected text. • Puts text exactly where you click: add a paragraph in the middle of a document without touching anything around it. • Three styles: Human, Fast or Clumsy. Then fine-tune the speed in words per minute, the pauses and the mistakes, or just set a time to finish in, like 30 minutes. • Real mistakes, fixed: it can hit a wrong key now and then, notice, backspace and correct it. The final text always comes out exactly as you wrote it. • Natural pauses: short breaks at commas, full stops and new paragraphs, plus the occasional longer think. • Keeps going in the background: switch tabs or watch something while it types. The page is locked while it works, so a stray click can't mix anything in. • Pause and resume any time, right where it stopped. Your text is kept if you close the panel. • Keyboard shortcuts: Alt+Shift+K starts, pauses or resumes. Alt+Shift+H stops. Alt+Shift+Y opens the panel. On a Mac, use Option instead of Alt. You can change them at chrome://extensions/shortcuts. • Private: your text stays on your computer. No account, no servers, no tracking. While it types, Chrome shows a bar saying "Auto Typer started debugging this browser". That's how Chrome lets an extension press real keys, and it goes away when typing stops. Great for typing up text you've drafted elsewhere, for anyone who finds long typing sessions hard on their hands, and for demos, tutorials and screen recordings.
