Overview
In the middle of Brazil’s Pantanal wetlands, a giant jabiru nest sits majestically
as a majestic symbol of the wildlife here. A pair of jabiru — the largest stork species in the Americas — with their pure white plumage, black necks and distinctive large, strong beaks, tend their nest or stand majestically guarding the blue sky. The huge nest is woven from dry branches, standing out against the arid and desolate backdrop of the bare tree. The whole scene is both wild and majestic, clearly showing the attachment of this bird species to the Pantanal region – one of the world’s largest wetland ecosystems and a paradise for wild birds.
