Overview

Mount cloud storage natively in ChromeOS Files

All your cloud storage, as ordinary drives in the ChromeOS Files app. Your files often end up scattered. Some live in Google Drive, some in Dropbox, some in OneDrive, and others in work storage buckets. On a Chromebook, reaching them usually means juggling browser tabs—downloading a file to edit it, then remembering to upload it back afterward. OmniFiles changes this. It puts all your cloud storage directly into the native ChromeOS Files app, right next to your Downloads folder. Every account you connect shows up in the sidebar as its own ordinary drive. Features: • Native File Manager Integration: Open, edit, rename, copy, move, and delete cloud files exactly as you would with local files. No Linux container or Crostini required! • Multi-Cloud Support: Connect multiple accounts simultaneously. Currently supports Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, Dropbox, Amazon S3 (and compatible providers like Wasabi or MinIO), Google Cloud Storage, and more. • Real-Time Progress: See real-time upload and download progress bars via ChromeOS notifications. • Smart Background Uploads: Small files use instant buffer memory, while larger files stream efficiently to the cloud without crashing your browser. • Built-in Image Thumbnails: Automatically generates fast, cached thumbnails for your photos right in the file manager grid view. • Context Menu Actions: Right-click any file to quickly generate a shareable public link or check file metadata. • Rclone Powered: Built on the rock-solid open-source rclone engine, compiled directly into a lightweight WebAssembly extension. Please Note: • ChromeOS Only: OmniFiles acts as a native ChromeOS File System Provider. It will not do anything on Windows, macOS, or desktop Linux versions of the Chrome browser. • Initial Setup: Connecting major cloud providers (like Google Drive or OneDrive) currently requires a one-time authentication code generated via rclone on a desktop computer. A guided wizard in the extension settings will help you paste your configuration. Stop treating your cloud files like email attachments. Install OmniFiles and make them feel local!
