Sound Controller & EQ gives you full control over the sound of every tab in Chrome. Boost quiet videos up to 600%, cut loud ones down to silence, shape the sound with a 10-band equalizer, and let the extension remember your volume for every website. AUTO RESTORE - SET IT ONCE, KEEP IT FOREVER Tired of changing the volume again every time you open the same site? Auto restore fixes that. - Set the volume on a site once. Sound Controller & EQ saves it for that site. - Next time you open the popup on that site, your saved volume is applied again. - Saved per website, not per tab. Quiet lecture site stays boosted, loud video site stays low. - Includes your EQ settings for that site too. - One switch in the popup turns auto restore on or off at any time. - Volume 100% with flat EQ is the default, so nothing is stored for sites you never changed. - Your settings stay on your device. Nothing is sent to any server. VOLUME CONTROL FOR EVERY TAB - Volume range from 0% to 600% per tab. - Slider, plus and minus buttons, and mouse wheel support. - "Default (100)" button to reset in one click. - Colors warn you: amber for boost, red for very high boost. - Each tab has its own volume, so one loud tab never ruins the rest. - Works on local files (file://) too. Turn on "Allow access to file URLs" in Manage extension (chrome://extensions => Details). SEE WHICH TABS PLAY AUDIO - The popup lists every tab that is playing sound right now. - Each row shows the site icon, the title, the current volume, and an EQ badge if EQ is on. - Click a row to open its slider, or jump straight to that tab with "Open it". - The list updates live when a tab starts or stops playing. 10-BAND EQUALIZER - Ten bands from 60 Hz to 16 kHz, each from -12 dB to +12 dB. - Quick presets: Flat, Bass, Voice, Treble. - Open the EQ panel to turn it on, close it to bypass it. Your values are kept. - A limiter at the end of the audio chain protects your ears and speakers when you boost hard. BACKUP YOUR SETTINGS - Export all saved site settings to a JSON file. - Import them on another computer or after a reinstall. - Merge with current settings, or replace them. - Imported files are validated, and bad rows are skipped, so a damaged file cannot break the extension. - Made a mistake? "Undo last import" brings your old settings back. PRIVATE BY DESIGN - No account, no ads, no tracking, no analytics. - Audio is processed locally in your browser and is never recorded or uploaded. - Only the site name and your volume and EQ values are saved, locally in Chrome storage. HOW TO USE 1. Open a tab that plays audio. 2. Click the Sound Controller & EQ icon. 3. Drag the volume slider. Open the EQ panel if you want to shape the sound. 4. Leave auto restore on. Next time, open the popup on that site and your saved volume comes back. GOOD TO KNOW - Chrome only allows audio capture on a tab after you open the extension popup on it. So open the popup once on a tab to unlock it. After that, you can change its volume from the tab list in any popup. - Chrome internal pages (chrome://, Web Store, new tab page) cannot be controlled. This is a Chrome limit. - Closing a tab releases its audio capture automatically. PERMISSIONS EXPLAINED - tabCapture: captures tab audio so volume and EQ can be applied. - offscreen: runs the audio engine in a hidden page, required by Manifest V3. - tabs: reads tab title, icon and address to list audible tabs and to save settings per site. - activeTab: lets the popup work on the tab you are looking at. - storage: saves your per-site volume, EQ and switch locally.
