Overview

Capture citation metadata, organize research sources, and export bibliographies in common academic formats.

Cite Keeper turns the page you are reading into an editable research-source record. Invoke it from the toolbar, context menu, or Alt+Shift+K to extract citation metadata, review the fields, add tags and collections, and save the source locally. Capture titles, authors, publication dates, journals, volume and issue data, page ranges, DOI and ISBN identifiers, abstracts, PDF links, notes, and selected quotations. Duplicate URLs and DOIs update the existing entry instead of creating a second copy. The built-in library supports search, collections, tags, inline editing, notes, quotations, and links back to the original page or PDF. Copy citations in multiple style and export for backups. Your library stays in local browser storage. If an invoked page lacks usable citation metadata, Cite Keeper can send its arXiv ID or DOI to arxiv.org/doi.org to retrieve public citation details. No information is sent to ScholarSail, and there are no accounts, analytics, advertisements, or tracking.
