Shush — Private Bookmarks

Shush is a private, local-first bookmarking extension. Your bookmarks are encrypted on your device with a password only you know 🔒 Encrypted at rest — every bookmark (URL and title) is stored as AES-GCM ciphertext, using a key derived from your password with PBKDF2 (210,000 iterations, SHA-256). Nothing is ever written in plaintext. 🙈 Private-window only — Shush runs exclusively in Incognito/Private windows, so your saved pages stay out of your normal profile. 🔑 One password, one list — each password opens its own separate encrypted list. There is no recovery: if you forget a password, that list stays encrypted forever. Your password is never stored and never transmitted. 📁 Folders & Bin — organize bookmarks into folders, and restore or permanently delete items from the Bin. 💾 Encrypted import/export — back up a list, or move it to another device, as an encrypted blob that only your password can open. ⚡ Quick save — save the current tab from the toolbar popup, the right-click menu, or a keyboard shortcut. ☁️ Optional Premium sync — sign in with Google to back up and sync your lists across devices. Sync is end-to-end encrypted: your bookmarks are uploaded only as ciphertext, and your vault password is never sent, so our servers can never read them. Use Shush entirely free and offline with no account — nothing leaves your device. Premium sync is the only feature that connects to the network, and even then it transmits only encrypted data.
