Old Reddit Filter Suite gives you a real editor for your old.reddit.com feed. Approve the subs you want, block the ones you don't, filter by word, mute users, sweep posts off the screen, and hide the karma-farm accounts — all of it reversible, all of it synced across your machines, and none of it touching your Reddit account. Everything here is local. The extension never posts, never votes, never blocks through Reddit's API, and never sends your lists anywhere except your own Chrome sync, or if you choose, your own Google Drive. ──────────────────────────────────────── WHERE IT WORKS old.reddit.com only. Approve and Block subreddit lists apply on /r/all and /r/popular — the big mixed feeds where you don't choose what shows up. Word filters, user blocking, post sweeping and karma profiles apply everywhere on old.reddit.com. ──────────────────────────────────────── THE LISTS ✓ Approved — subs you always want to see. Never hidden by a subreddit block. Switch the list off and it inverts into a discovery tool: your curated subs disappear and /r/all shows you only what you haven't already claimed. × Blocked — subs you never want to see on /r/all or /r/popular. Visiting the subreddit directly still works; this is about the feed, not a wall. Unclassified — not a list, a state. Anything you haven't filed anywhere simply is unclassified. Toggle it off to browse only your curated subs, or isolate it for pure discovery. Exact filter — whole-word, case-insensitive match on post titles and subreddit names. "game" matches "Game" but not "games". Aggressive filter — substring match anywhere. "game" also catches "games", "gameplay", "videogame". Blocked Users — the extension's own user list. Press and hold any username for about three-quarters of a second and a progress bar fills inside the link; release at the end and they're blocked. No Reddit API, no login required, and no 1,000-user cap. Their posts vanish from listings and their comments collapse the way Reddit's own blocking collapses them — expandable if you want to look. Hidden — posts you've swept away, kept in timestamped batches. Karma Blocker — named rules that hide posts from high-karma accounts. ──────────────────────────────────────── SWEEPING POSTS AWAY One click on the floating button hides every post that is fully on screen. Posts clipped by the top or bottom edge are spared, so you never lose something you hadn't read yet. Sweeps are local and completely reversible. Nothing touches Reddit's destructive hide API. Every sweep is kept as a timestamped batch: unhide any single batch, clear the whole Hidden list in one undoable action, unhide an individual post with its eye button, or just pause the extension to see everything again. Hides sync across your devices (newest 5,000), with tombstones so an unhide on one PC can't be resurrected by another. ──────────────────────────────────────── KARMA BLOCK PROFILES Karma profiles hide posts from accounts whose karma looks manufactured, and they're built in a seven-step wizard that asks one question per screen. For each kind of karma — post, comment, and total — you can set: • an absolute ceiling ("over 500,000 total karma"), or • an earning-speed rule on a karma-per-day scale, shown with its karma-per-year equivalent so the number means something, plus • a minimum-activation floor, so a two-day-old account with one viral post can't trip a pure ratio. A profile trips only when every condition you set matches, and you watch the rule assemble in plain English at the bottom of each screen. Free passes work the other way: if an account matches even one pass — karma under or over a value, or account age — that profile leaves them alone. The review screen spells out the finished rule and its consequences before you save. Any enabled profile that trips hides the post, so build several narrow profiles rather than one giant one. Author karma is read from Reddit's own public profile JSON, fetched politely at no more than one account per 350 ms and cached for a week. ──────────────────────────────────────── ISOLATION Every list has an ISO button. Isolate a list to see only what it is doing — only your blocked subs, only the posts a word filter catches, only what your karma profiles would hide. Combine several at once. Isolating a word filter highlights the matching words in the titles. It's the fastest way to audit a rule before you trust it. Karma isolation works even with karma blocking switched off, so you can see what a profile would catch before you turn it on. ──────────────────────────────────────── A ? ON EVERY CONTROL Every control in the app carries a small ?. Click one and you get a plain-language explanation, a working replica of that exact card, and a live demo of that exact function — real styles, real behaviour, no consequences. Type into the word-filter demo and watch the example posts disappear. Type karma numbers into the karma demo and see the verdict. Watch the two-PC sync animation resolve a conflict. There is nothing to read in advance. ──────────────────────────────────────── THE MENUS A floating button sits in the corner, draggable anywhere. Its top half sweeps the screen; its bottom half opens a popup with Open menu, Active, Inactive, and Disabled. The compact menu gives every list one row: an on/off switch, its name, a live count, a ?, an ISO button, and an add box that's always ready. Click any list title and it opens full-size — the complete scrolling list, search, sorting, undo/redo, clear-all, and drag-and-drop between compatible lists. All of this lives in a shadow root, so a subreddit's custom CSS cannot restyle it. The menus look the same on every sub. Three master states: Active filters normally. Inactive pauses filtering but greys out swept posts as a reminder of what you'd hidden. Disabled leaves the page completely untouched while keeping the menus reachable so you can switch back. ──────────────────────────────────────── UNDO, SORTING, SEARCH Every list has its own ↶ ↷ buttons — ↶ removes that list's newest entry, repeat to walk backwards, ↷ re-adds what you undid. Twenty-five actions deep. Every list keeps its own sort rule: alphabetical or chronological, either direction. The magnifier searches the full stored contents of every list at once, grouped by list, with per-hit removal. ──────────────────────────────────────── SYNC By default your lists ride Chrome's own sync storage, so any machine signed into the same Chrome profile gets them live, with no page reload. Merging is per-entry and timestamp-based, so two devices editing at once always converge, and deletes leave a tombstone for 180 days so a delete beats a stale add from a machine that was offline. Lists travel packed and compressed, which means large setups use well under half the 100 KB quota. If you outgrow it anyway, switch the backend to Google Drive: same data, same merge rules, stored in Drive's hidden app-data folder where it won't clutter your Drive. Sync can also be switched off entirely to keep each machine independent. No telemetry. No remote code. Nothing is sent to the developer — there is no developer server. The extension makes exactly three kinds of network request: 1. Reddit's own public profile JSON, to read a post author's karma for the Karma Blocker 2. the next page of the listing you're already reading, for endless scrolling 3. Fixed: blocked users' own profile pages show their posts again; /r/popular wasn't being filtered at all; the Google Drive connect flow could dead-end with both sync options unclickable.
