Overview

Fact check articles and videos with AI. Claims on a webpage are underlined true, false or disputed, with citations to the sources.

Falsify is a free fact checker extension for websites, YouTube, TikTok and Instagram Reels, powered by AI. One click tests every factual claim on the whole webpage or video you are on, with sources and reasoning behind each verdict. IS THIS ARTICLE TRUE? VERIFY A WHOLE WEBPAGE IN ONE CLICK: • Open Falsify from the toolbar and run it on the article in one click, or press Ctrl+Shift+S (Cmd+Shift+S on Mac). • It finds the factual statements, searches the web for evidence (Google results, Wikipedia and other sources), and AI judges each one against what it finds. • Verdicts arrive in real time, and every statement it can settle is underlined right where you are reading: 🟢 Green: true 🔴 Red: false 🟠 Orange: disputed (sources conflict) • A summary banner totals them by verdict, and clicking a total jumps you through them one at a time. HOW TO FACT CHECK A YOUTUBE VIDEO, A TIKTOK OR AN INSTAGRAM REEL: • Works as a TikTok fact checker, and on Instagram Reels too — verify a social media clip before you share it. YouTube Shorts are supported when captions are available. • Falsify reads the captions and judges what is said, the same way it reads a page. • Resolved claims appear in a timestamped sidebar, marked true, false or disputed. Click a line to jump the player to that moment; click a claim to see its citations and reasoning. KEY FEATURES: • See the evidence, not just a verdict: click any underlined sentence for its Truth score, links to where the evidence came from, the exact lines it was judged on, and a plain-language explanation. • Links to quoted passages: a citation opens the source at the cited text when supported. • No misquotes: the panel shows the real sentence as written, alongside the restated version it judged. • Highlighter: select any sentence and judge just that statement on its own. On a video, it opens the transcript so you can pick a single line. • History: reopen past results and restore the underlines in place (needs Google sign-in). • Keyboard shortcuts: Ctrl+Shift+S runs it where you are, Ctrl+Shift+Y turns on the highlighter (Cmd on Mac). WHAT PEOPLE USE IT FOR: • An article, where they are unsure about the trustworthiness, before sharing it. • A viral clip, to verify what the person on screen actually said. • A health or science claim that sounds too clean. • A statistic in a headline. • A friend's link, to spot fake news and misinformation before it spreads. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: How do I fact check a YouTube video? Open the video and press Ctrl+Shift+S. Falsify reads the captions, lists what was said in a timestamped sidebar, and marks each line true, false or disputed with links to the evidence. How do I fact check a TikTok video or an Instagram Reel? The same way. Open the clip, run it, and the sidebar fills in. This is the part almost nothing else does, so it is worth trying first. How do AI fact checkers work? This one does not ask a chatbot what it remembers. It searches the web for each claim, reads what comes back, and judges the claim against those results. Every verdict links out to the evidence it used. Is this article true? How do I check one without leaving the tab? Press Ctrl+Shift+S on any article. Each statement is underlined where it sits, so you read the verdict in place rather than opening a second tab. How do I tell if news is fake? Run it and look at the red and orange underlines. Red is contradicted by the evidence, orange means credible sources disagree. Anything it cannot settle is left alone rather than guessed at. Is Falsify free, and do I need an account? Free to start and no sign-up needed. The free tier covers several whole articles, a couple of highlights and a few minutes of video a day. Pro lifts the limits.
