Blackboard Dark Mode - DarkBoard
6 ratings
)Overview
Dark mode for Blackboard Ultra. Built at Iona University, in beta for other schools. No white flash, just a readable LMS at 2am.
Blackboard Ultra has no dark mode, and never has. Anthology builds for universities, not for the student staring at a blinding white LMS at 1am. DarkBoard fixes that. WHAT YOU GET • Every page themed - courses, grades, announcements, calendar, messages • Dark from the very first frame, including Blackboard's embedded frames • Colour-coded grades, so you can see how an assignment went at a glance • One switch in the popup, applied instantly to every open Blackboard tab • Every colour in the theme chosen by measuring contrast, not by eye WHERE IT WORKS Iona University (online.iona.edu): works the moment you install it. Any other school on Blackboard Ultra: in beta. Open your school's Blackboard, click the DarkBoard icon, and choose "Enable on this school". Chrome asks for access to that one site and nothing else. You can remove it from the same popup at any time. The theme was built and tested on Iona's Blackboard, so other schools may hit a page that doesn't look right yet. If you do, use "Report a problem" in the popup. Every report makes it better for your whole school. Built by a Computer Science student at Iona. Lightweight, open source, actively maintained. No accounts, no tracking, no data collected. Found a bug or want to read the code? The GitHub link is in the popup. Issues and pull requests welcome.
