Read real Japanese on the web, one sentence at a time. Iyaku Japanese Reader turns any Japanese page into a reading lesson. Hover over a word, or tap it on a phone or tablet, to see what it means, how it's read, and which grammar the sentence uses. What you get - Meanings and readings: dictionary definitions, parts of speech, and every reading of a word. - Grammar explanations: grammar patterns from JLPT N5 to N1 are recognized in each sentence, explained, and can be highlighted on the page. - Kanji: the meaning, on and kun readings, and example words for every kanji in a sentence. - Furigana your way: show it everywhere, only the first time a kanji appears, only in the popup, or not at all. You can also replace kanji with kana. - Listen and translate: hear a sentence read aloud, or see a translation. - Save and study: star words, sentences and kanji to review later. "Study this" opens a kanji's writing practice on iyaku.org. - Send to Notebook: save a selection or a whole page to your Iyaku Notebook.
