CSS Lift
Overview
Click any element to lift its CSS exactly as written, or a whole component as HTML + CSS. Paste it anywhere, or into AI.
Like how a button, card or header looks on some website? Click it, and CSS Lift copies its CSS exactly as the site wrote it — ready to paste. ■ The CSS that actually applies — nothing else ・CSS Lift reads the page's style sheets and picks the rules that really win, in the same order the browser does: !important, @layer, specificity and source order ・No wall of 300 computed values. Declarations that just repeat the defaults are left out ・var() is replaced with the real value, so colors don't disappear when you paste ・:hover, :focus, ::before / ::after and the @media rules that apply now come out as separate blocks ■ Copy a whole component ・Switch to "Component (HTML + CSS)" to copy an element with everything inside it ・Class names are rewritten so they don't clash with your page ・Text settings inherited from parent elements are added, so it looks the same on a blank page ・SVG icons, Shadow DOM content and (optionally) web fonts come along too ・Tested by rebuilding real pages from the copied code alone: Yahoo! News (1,658 elements) and the Bootstrap hero with no size differences, the Tailwind CSS homepage (1,746 elements) with 2 ■ ✦ Copy for AI ・One click gives you a ready-to-paste prompt with the page address, the element's size, and the HTML and CSS in code blocks ・Paste it into Claude, ChatGPT or Claude Code and ask them to rebuild or adapt it — far more accurate than a screenshot ■ Easy to use ・Click the toolbar icon (or press Alt+Shift+C), point at an element, click, copy ・"↑ Parent" selects the element one level up, "Pick again" starts over ・English / Japanese (in ⚙ Settings) ■ Private by design ・No tracking, no analytics, no ads, no account ・Everything runs inside your browser. Nothing is sent to any server ・Values typed into form fields (like emails or passwords) are never copied ・Runs only on the tab where you click it. Reading CSS and fonts hosted on other sites (such as CDNs) is optional and off by default Note: Chrome doesn't let extensions run on pages like Chrome Settings, the Chrome Web Store or the New Tab page.
