OffSignal fights back by turning YouTube and Twitch into a strict, retro-analog operator monitor. Instead of boring block pages, OffSignal wraps your video player in a green phosphor grid aesthetic and applies physical rest breaks, static noise degradation, and whitelists to keep you mindful of your screen time. 📺 KEY FUNCTIONS 1. Focus Whitelist Channels Blurs out and blocks home feeds, sidebars, comments, and recommendations. If a video does not match your whitelisted channels or approved keywords, it is instantly blocked with a blank screen displaying motivational Stoic quotes (from Marcus Aurelius, Epictetus, and Seneca) to help you step away. 2. Enforced standby breaks (Pomodoro) Protect your eyes and posture. At intervals you customize, OffSignal pauses playback, mutes the audio, and displays a classic SMPTE color-bar standby countdown screen. You are locked out until the timer runs out, giving you a mandatory break to stretch, drink water, and disconnect. 3. Daily limits & visual signal noise Set a daily watch budget. As you approach your limit, horizontal CRT scanlines and animated static visual interference will progressively creep onto the screen. Once you reach 100% of your allowance, the screen collapses into a white dot (CRT cathode shutdown) and blocks playback until midnight. 4. Background Layout Hotfixes YouTube and Twitch change their code structures constantly.
