Offline X Archive
Overview
Save X posts to a fully offline, on-device archive. Browse and search what you saved later, with no account and no servers.
Offline X Archive lets you save individual posts from X (formerly Twitter) to your own browser and search them later — fully offline. X's built-in bookmarks vanish when a post is removed, and screenshots can't be searched. This extension captures the body, images, video, and full thread of any post you choose at the moment you save it, then keeps them on your device so you can find them again with tags and full-text search. ■ Features ▸ Archive posts one by one Pick the posts you want from a timeline or a post detail page and add them to your local archive on demand. Threads (self-reply chains) are pulled in together so the conversation stays intact. ▸ Keep images and videos locally Attached media is downloaded alongside the post body and stored on your device. If the original post is later removed from X, your local copy still works. ▸ Tags and full-text search Every archived post is taggable, and the built-in viewer supports full-text search across captions, replies, and your own tags — so "the post someone wrote about X" becomes findable again. ▸ ZIP backup and restore Export your entire archive to a single ZIP file when you switch devices or want an off-device backup, then import the same ZIP later to restore everything exactly as it was. ▸ Completely offline No sign-in, no account, no server. Data lives only in your browser's local storage (IndexedDB and OPFS). Nothing leaves your machine. ▸ Independent viewer Archived posts are browsed in a dedicated viewer that ships with the extension, so layout changes on X never affect how your collection looks. ■ Who it's for ・People who want to preserve specific X posts before they disappear ・Anyone who wants their archive to be searchable later, not just bookmarked ・Users who run into the limits of X's built-in bookmarks (lost when posts are deleted, capped in count) ・People who prefer to keep their content on their own device ■ Privacy Only posts you explicitly archive are touched. Browsing history, other sites you visit, and analytics data are never collected. All archive data stays in your browser's local storage; nothing — including the extension author — receives a copy. X session credentials are not written to long-term storage; they are held only in an in-memory area that is cleared when you close the browser. See the privacy policy for the full statement. ■ Notes ・This extension is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by X Corp. or the former Twitter, Inc. It is an independent third-party tool. ・X occasionally changes its page structure, which can temporarily break archiving. If something stops working, please report it through GitHub Issues. ・How you handle the posts you have archived (sharing, republishing, quoting) is your own responsibility under applicable law and X's terms of service. The extension is intended for personal use. ■ Support / Feedback Bugs and feature requests: https://github.com/FUMIHITO-EGUCHI/x-post-archive-extension/issues
