S Chromium Bridge
Overview
Local web testing bridge for browser automation, diagnostics, and scoped request modification
S Chromium Bridge connects Chrome to a companion installed on the same computer so the user can test and debug websites in their existing browser session. After the user reviews the in-product data disclosure and explicitly enables access, authorized local developer tools can: - inspect page structure and interact with selected HTTP(S) tabs; - capture screenshots, PDFs, console output, and bounded network diagnostics; - upload test files and wait for downloads; - apply user-created, explicitly scoped request and response modifications. Safety controls: - Native Host access and request modification are off by default. - Chrome asks for HTTP(S) site access only when the user enables a feature that needs it. - Full Chrome DevTools Protocol access is separately disabled by default and marked dangerous. - The companion listens only on localhost and requires a random per-install bearer token. - The developer does not receive browsing data, analytics, or profile contents. - The popup provides Stop all to end sessions and debugger attachments immediately. The local companion currently supports macOS and Linux and requires Node.js 22.19 or newer. See the support page for installation and troubleshooting.
