Overview
A browser-based CMS, optimized for AI collaboration. Generates static sites for SFTP or deploy to Cloudflare Pages or Netlify.
WebHaste is a free website content management system (CMS) designed from the ground up for AI collaboration. Manage your site yourself, or use your preferred AI app or coding agent to help you build templates and manage content — all while WebHaste runs locally in your browser. There's nothing to buy, and you retain full control over your site and your files. WebHaste is designed for small teams, agencies, and site owners who want a fast, simple way to create and update informational websites — without the overhead and security risks of running a server-side CMS. Publish to Cloudflare Pages, Netlify, or practically any hosting service. WebHaste includes structure, conventions, and built-in agent skills so AI tools have everything they need to work effectively with your site: ☑️ Generate or modify templates (static HTML + templating) ☑️ Create and update page content quickly and consistently ☑️ Help maintain site structure (pages, navigation, languages, repeated sections) ☑️ Migrate an existing WordPress site from a static export ☑️ Audit SEO and accessibility, fixing the safe issues and reporting the rest ☑️ Preview changes in real-time This Tool is Great for: ☑️ Small to medium informational websites (marketing sites, brochure sites, documentation, simple landing pages) ☑️ Static sites that can use embeds/iframes for forms, email signup, scheduling, etc. ☑️ Simple or infrequently updated blogs ☑️ Directories, staff lists, price tables, and other repeating data ☑️ Sites with content in multiple languages ☑️ Teams who want to manage site content with help from AI tools This tool is not intended for: ❌ E-commerce / shopping carts ❌ Sites that require logins or personalized server-side experiences ❌ Apps that depend on databases or heavy backend logic ❌ Projects that require JS front-end frameworks (React/Vue/etc.) How WebHaste works: 🔹 Build pages and templates locally inside Chrome or any compatible browser 🔹 WebHaste creates static HTML "partials" for each page, which are then displayed as formatted pages in a real-time preview pane 🔹 Robust block editor lets you insert pre-built or custom blocks, tables, images, and animations 🔹 When publishing, WebHaste renders every page as a fully formed HTML file, including any dependencies or links, like images, CSS, JS and favicons 🔹 Creates a search index, sitemap, and social link-preview tags that are deployed with your site files 🔹 Deploy directly using built-in connectors to Cloudflare Pages and Netlify 🔹 OR export your static website files and host anywhere (SFTP, GitHub Pages, and more) 🔹 OR render a self-contained copy that opens straight from a folder, with no server at all Key features 🔹 Static site generation (HTML templates + page content) 🔹 Built-in deployment to fast, free hosting services 🔹 Plain HTML files version cleanly in Git 🔹 Works entirely in-browser, on your computer (no server required) 💻 🔹 Designed for collaboration with AI: includes conventions, resources, and built-in agent skills so your favorite AI tools can help build templates and manage content 🔹 Lists: build blog indexes, directories, and tables from entries you manage in one place, with CSV import/export 🔹 Built-in SEO tools: sitemap, link previews, per-page noindex, schema markup, URL redirects, and a broken-link checker 🔹 Draft pages, per-page templates, and multi-language pages 🔹 Optionally edit templates, CSS, and JavaScript right in the browser, with live preview 🔹 Site search is baked into the publish step, so it's never out of sync 🔹 Since everything is local, you can even work offline (AI collaboration and deployment obviously require an Internet connection) If you want a lightweight CMS workflow for static sites — and you want AI to be a first-class collaborator — WebHaste is built for that. _________________________________________________________ Frequently Asked Questions ❓Is it really free? Yes! WebHaste is free to download and use for personal or commercial projects. We also provide free starter templates to get you going fast. ❓Does WebHaste need a server? No. WebHaste works directly on your machine and generates static files that you can host anywhere. ❓Can I work offline? Yes! Your site lives locally (publishing and AI features require Internet access). ❓Where can I host? Cloudflare Pages, Netlify, GitHub Pages, or practically any web hosting provider. ❓Which browsers can run WebHaste? Chromium-based browsers, including Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. ❓Can my site have search? Yes, WebHaste creates a search index during its site-generation step, whether you use search or not. It's deployed automatically and can be added to your design template with a couple of lines of code. It even works in offline copies. ❓Can I move an existing WordPress site to WebHaste? Yes, it's easy with an AI coding agent. Export your WordPress site as static files (we've tested the Simply Static plugin), then ask your agent to use WebHaste's built-in migration skill to convert the theme and pages. Features that need a server, like contact forms, comments, and stores, get placeholders you replace with embeds. ❓What AI tools can I use to manage my website? You can use coding tools like Claude Code and OpenAI Codex to edit and manage your site directly (desktop apps may need a connector to access your computer files). Every project includes instructions and agent skills these tools pick up automatically. You also can use hosted AI tools to create or edit content via copying/pasting formatted text or HTML code. _________________________________________________________ Some prompt ideas to jump-start your AI collaboration: 🔹 Use the attached Word document to create a new page titled "About Us” 🔹 Scan through all pages on the site; based on each page's content, create an SEO-optimized page title and meta description, and update those for each page 🔹 Summarize the content of the page, creating a TLDR summary block at the top of the content 🔹 Create a Spanish-language version of the English homepage at index-es.html 🔹 Create a new page called "Testimonials" and add it to the header and footer navigation 🔹 Based on the attached mockup, create a WebHaste site template in the current project that uses Bootstrap as the CSS framework 🔹 Use the WordPress migration skill to convert the static export in C:\old-site into this project 🔹 Create a Team list with names, roles, and photos, and show it as a directory on the About page 🔹 Audit this site for SEO and accessibility, fix what's safe, and give me a ranked to-do list for the rest 🔹 Stage the latest site updates and commit to GitHub
