DraftShield
Overview
Locally autosave form drafts and recover recent text before it is lost.
DraftShield is a local form-recovery extension for text you do not want to type twice. It quietly keeps recent drafts from eligible text fields on ordinary webpages so that a support request, application, long comment, CMS entry, or other form can be recovered after an accidental reload, expired session, closed tab, or similar interruption. The popup shows whether the current site is protected, how many editable fields are eligible, and which recoveries are available. Saved drafts include a small local checkpoint timeline so recent versions can be restored when needed. Main features: • Automatic local autosave for eligible text fields • Recover multiple fields from the same form • Recent checkpoint timeline for form drafts • Restore the latest draft or an earlier checkpoint • Copy recovered text when direct restoration is not appropriate • Pause protection on individual domains • Configurable draft retention from 1 to 30 days • Configurable checkpoint count • Automatic cleanup of expired drafts • Local storage limits to keep the recovery database bounded • Common password, payment-card, security-code, and one-time-code fields excluded before autosave • No account required • No developer-operated cloud draft service DraftShield is intended for forms where losing typed text would be inconvenient. It is not a password manager or encrypted secrets vault, and users can pause protection on sites where they do not want local form recovery.
